Le Star of the Seas est le troisième navire de la flotte Royal Caribbean à être alimenté par du GNL (Gaz Naturel Liquéfié), le carburant le plus propre disponible à grande échelle pour les paquebots de croisière. En outre, il possède un système d'alimentation à quai et des systèmes de récupération de chaleur résiduelle.
